Have you ever taken a closer look at What and Who inspires you?
When we are inspired we are naturally aligned with our true selves. We are ‘in spirit’: aligned and in a state of love, oneness, creativity and abundance. Hence, if you want to create a life you love, start following the path that inspires you.
“What inspires you are signposts to living your best life”
People who inspire you are simply reflecting back to you that which is within you!
Something you love and/or something you are inspired to experience is reflecting back to you that which is desiring to be birthed and expressed within you!
We can know what we are inspired by but to actually follow the path that lights us up is when the game of life starts to really move up a gear.
For many years I was inspired by and naturally interested in; personal development, life coaching, Oprah, ‘living your best life’, spirituality, the law of attraction, the concept of self actualisation, travel, life design and being the change I wanted to see in the world. Whenever I was immersed in what I loved, or in what inspired me; it was as if a spark within was ignited and I felt so alive and connected to myself.
In the years that followed, I made many decisions to follow my heart instead of my logical mind with all the ‘should’s’ and ‘ought to’s’.
Following my heart always felt light, freeing, exhilarating and yes a lil scary (But in a good way). The kind of way that stretches you and makes you feel like you are truly alive! My heart and soul felt on purpose, on track and I was so inspired of the endless possibilities that life had to offer.
Listening to my head was always a heavy feeling, limiting and boring. Not much zest for life! I was consumed by what I thought I should do, what I thought others expected of me & what I thought society expected of me etc.
Case in point: Following my heart and travelling for 2 years after graduating from uni instead of moving straight into a ‘career’ like I thought I should do. During my 2 years away, I also lived out another wild dream which saw me living and volunteering for 16 months in Arusha, Tanzania, East Africa. When I returned home, I again followed my heart and signed up for Life Coaching Training instead of becoming a ‘Lawyer’ or ‘Counselor’ even though I had done 6 years at uni! Crazy to some, but I felt like I was dying on the inside each day I wasn’t staying true to myself, I felt like I had no choice but to continue to follow the path that lit me up; what my heart and soul were yearning for.
Of course following your heart is a risk. So is following your logical mind. Both have positive and negatives, both have consequences and ‘rewards…but I knew that only one would ever make me feel like I was living the life I was born to live…it was when I said yes to what I loved and continued to follow what I was inspired by that I felt like I was truly living and not just existing.
We will never fully experience all of our potential nor express all of our power in this lifetime unless we honour and take the path of inspiration.
While you may be inspired, only you can walk through that door, take that leap of faith and feel the thrill of FEELING TRULY ALIVE!
Take that next step!
